Newsletter July 2023

Dear Friends of Skt Nikolaj,

Thank you to all who came to our Skt Hans Midsummer event! It was a beautiful warm evening this year and we all enjoyed great food, the bonfire and singing the ususal Danish midsummer songs.

Our last event before we take a break for Summer will be a Coffee and Hygge afternoon on Thursday 13th July 1-3pm.  Please join us and hopefully we can sit in the garden

There is still time to catch the exhibition 'Relics and Rails' before it finishes on the 15th July. See website for opening times. There will be no Saturday lunch this month and no social events in August  but our venue will host the first annual Radical Bookfair organised by the Rebel Cat Collective on the 12th August 11am-4pm.

Even though its is summer and November seems a long way off we are already planning for this years Christmas Market. As always we need help on the day but especially in the time leading up to it. If you can spare some time baking, handing out flyers, setting up, running errands, manning a stall or would like to sponsor the event please get in touch, we really appreciate all the help we can get!

As you know we are always looking to raise more funds for the church and have done so in the past by renting out parking spaces in the church car park. Only a few of the spaces are being used now therefore we have asked a Parking Management company to take on the car park. It will be possible for members of the public to pay and park, volunteers and people using the church facilities will be able to park for free. People parking without permission or without paying will receive a fine.  More information will go out in a separate email before the new system goes live.

Enjoy the summer and please note that the first event in September will be Coffee and Hygge on Friday the 15th September 1-3pm.

Date for your diary:  Our Harvest Service with Arne Kristophersen will be Sunday 15th October at 11am followed by lunch. More info later.

Newsletter June 2023

Dear friends of Skt Nikolaj,

June is here which means we get to enjoy the hopefully sunny weather in the church garden for the summer events.  Headway, one of the groups that meet regularly at the church,  have been busy filling all our pots with fresh plants for us all to enjoy. Many thanks!

We had a lovely time celebrating Harry's 90th birthday at our coffee afternoon in May (see picture above). Thank you to everyone who came and to  Anne for the stunning cakes!

Meet the Artist

On Saturday 10th of June 2023 there will be a chance to meet Syd Young, the artist behind the Relics and Rails exhibition currently showing at the church. It will be a talk of approaximately one hour starting at 11.30am and will include stories and anecdotes behind some of his works of art. Coffee, tea and cake available.

If you can't make this event but would like to see the exhibition, it will still be on until Saturday 15th July 2023.  Open Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays 10am - 2pm.
